This past weekend I had the privilege of shooting Josh and Amelia's wedding in Yardley. I met both Josh and Amelia at PBU and worked with Josh for 2 years as RA's. While they didn't start dating until I had left PBU, it has been exciting to hear how their relationship has grown over the past year or so.
I must say that Amelia has always had a knack for coordinating colors and being creative and it definitely shows in the bridesmaids dresses, reception decor, and flowers. I just loved the bridesmaids dresses ( my bridesmaids also wore lace dresses), which were brought from Thailand where Amelia grew up. She also had a terrific bridal party that helped with every aspect of the wedding day.
More importantly, Josh and Amelia's love for each other and love for Christ were truly evident. Thanks for letting me be part of your day. You were tons of fun!
Check back for pictures- we are having some technical difficulties.

Amy and Rachel- Senior Spokesmodels
This past Tuesday I had the privilege of hanging out with Rachel and Amy over at Curtis Arboretum in Cheltenham for the second set of spokesmodel shoots so far this year. It didn't take long to for the girls to have me laughing with their smiles, jokes, and commentary of the shoot. One thing that was unique and special about this shoot was the fact that the Amy and Rachel are the closest of friends and could have each other laughing in an instant. Wherever you find one, the other is sure to be close by too. What a blessing it was to see such a special bond between friends. They reminded me of my friendship with Andi (check out previous bridal notes). We had some fun with individual portraits of each girl, and then some photos together.Girls I had a blast and thanks or Katie and Mom (Linda) for your help and entertainment. Enjoy!

Ruben n Julie Engagement Session
So when it comes to editing and viewing a shoot I am the most impatient person you will ever meet. I get that itching to just look at everything, pick my favorite shots , and begin post-processing before I even get home. So naturally, when I went to NJ for Ruben and Julie's engagement session- the drive home was of course to long to wait. Then, not only did I have to wait the drive, but I had to wait until the next day because it was around 12:00am. And now, I've made you all wait to view them. Here are just a few of the many I was able to catch.
Meet Ruben and Julie...
What a contagious couple! Ruben just so happens to be a dear, close friend of my husband Joel. They grew up together, played basketball together, and are just about as close to being brother's as you can get. In fact, Ruben was in our wedding. I first met Julie a short while after she and Ruben began dating and knew that they were so perfect together. While we don't see each other nearly enough, it as if we could pick up wherever we left off the last time.
If you can't tell already from the pictures Ruben and Julie have tons of fun together and brings God's joy and love to everyone around them. After my twin nieces birthday party on Sunday we headed over to a park along the river. Of course the park was crowded on such a beautiful day, but we worked around it. Ruben and Julie, I was so honored and privileged to be able to take your photos. Can't wait until 10.23.10! Joel and I are super excited!
Enjoy!
There are just so many I love- It's a long post.

Senior Season is Here!
Our First senior from the class of 2011 has hit the blog. Rebecca is our first featured Spokesmodel of the year.
Becky happens to be my sister-in-law so after an impromptu session in the winter we just had to get new senior portraits done. I promised her we would take her portraits again some day when it wasn't freezing cold out and the wind wasn't blowing our hair everywhere. She's the youngest of six children and the last in ...high school. I headed over to Lorimer Park where Spring just seems to be blossoming everywhere and had to politely dodge the many fisherman along the creek banks too. We had a lot of fun and Rebecca loves to laugh, which I'm sure you can see in the photos. I made Joel join us so he could get her to smile. For those of you graduating in 2011 act now and dare to be different. Don't settle for the same old cap and gown pictures, dare to be you, dare to be different with Heather Marie Photography. Contact us for senior portrait bookings and inquiries. Happy Viewing!

The Amazing Mom's Contest
Hello Faithful Friends and Fans,
Over the winter months I’ve had a lot of time to plan and create a number of new exciting promotionals, contests, and products to bring to you starting this Spring. You might think that the life of a photog revolves around snapping the pictures, but really there is tons of other work that goes on after the hour or two photo sessions; editing, designing, creating….
So today I would like to share with you my latest contest “AMAZING MOMS.” As I was thinking of the upcoming Mother’s Day, I knew there had to be some better way to honor our mother’s than a bouquet of flowers that a week later will wilt away. Now, this is not to say that buying your mom flowers is not a gesture from the heart, but couldn’t there be some better way? Couldn’t there be something that last longer than flowers or chocolate, or dinner out?
And then it hit me, how about a family photo shoot, at NO COST TO YOU! An hence came the idea of the Amazing Moms contest.
Here’s the Scoop:
Over the next three weeks you will have the opportunity to submit your Madre into our contest. All entries must include a summary of why you think your mom deserves to win the AMAZING MOMS contest. We want to know why your mom is so special to you. So tell us a little bit about your mom and who she is. WE love entrants from all ages to, so have your husband’s get the kids together and enter you into the contest. All emails must include a name, photo of your mom, and contact information along with your entry and send them along to hmariephotography@gmail.co m . All entries must be dated and received by April 2, 2010 before 11:59pm to be considered.
Prizes
1 Entrant will receive a Standard session valued at $150 at the location of your choice
2 Entrants will receive a Mini session valued at $75 dollars at the location of your choice
All entrants will receive 20% off session fees that can be used within a year of April 2, 2010.
We are excited to hear about your mom’s and why they are so special and important. Start sending entries today!

Hibernating
I know, I know, I know....It has been way too long once again. It is just so much easier to upload and update the facebook page. The winter has been a slow and cold time. When was the last time kids had what, 6days off of school. I almost wished I was in school again just so I could have off.
Hopefully Spring is on its way and my free time will very quickly dwindle, filled with weddings, engagements, seniors, etc. I'm hoping to update more in depth on what specials we have coming soon, but here are some recent shots to tide you over.

And the Winner is....Lauren Salinas!
Happy New Year Friends! I hope you all have had a wonderful start to the beginning of 2010. This was our first year in the new house so we hosted a little NYE party with family and spent most of the night playing Wii/Guitar Hero. New Year's Day held the excitement of a photo shoot with The Salinas/Ward Family. Lauren was the esteemed winner of our free mini session and now receives the title of "Client Who Has Traveled the Farthest" coming all the way from Texas. Lauren also happens to be the sister-in-law of my dear friend Bethany who recently moved to West Virgina so I was excited to be able to see her for a short time. Anyway, I'll be honest in saying I was a little nervous at first because we were trying to for a more traditional feel to the family portraits, something I'm not as comfortable with or confident about, but am always willing and open to try. I guess the more practice the better you get. We started off with some photos outside the Ward's beautiful new home and later ventured inside for more portraits, and lastly more relaxed shots of the family baking and cooking together(more my style). All I can say is the Wards/Salinas are tons of fun and have a blast together. Thanks for letting me capture your special time together!

Babyfrog Designs
Dear Friends,
Since I am currently snowed in from church I decided to be ambitious and update again. So soon, I know it's not normal. Anyway, I recently came across the cutest baby boutique of knitted items. Every item is custom made and unique. Check out Babyfrog Designs for the adorable gifts for any baby or infant.

A Potpourri
Well, Ihaven't updated in awhile so I figure it would be worth it. I have to admit, I have more time then usual right now because I made the mistake of getting up for work 3 hours early. So I was wide awake at 6:00 today and don't have to be there until 10:00. So I will update you in the meantime. Things have been crazy busy with the holidays. Lots of parties, get togethers, work. I also recently raffled off a free mini session. The winning family will be having portraits done in just a few short weeks. For those of you who do not follow on facebook, we are also now offering 20% discounts to faculty/staff, students, and graduates of PBU. So if you know anyone who might be interested, or recently engaged and is in need of a photographer send them my way. I am currently in the process of developing a few different school fundraisers as well with the hopes of benefiting area schools, families, and of course Heather Marie Photography. Enjoy the holidays!

A Wonderful Weekend
Okay, so I thought I'd get a post up on Monday, but it is now Tuesday. I had every intention for this site to be a place where my wonderfuly clients could get to know me a little better, and also keep my friends and family up to date on everyday life. I wanted to take the time to share a little about this past weekend.
Friday evening, Joel, my Dad, and I headed out to the Carlisle area to visit some dear friends of ours, the Rudders. My mom was already there as she travelled from a teacher's conference with Greg. Greg & Lisa and their four kids (Brett, Emilie, Caroline, and Elise) have played a significant role in my life, challenging me to grow spiritually and in many other areas of my life. Im so thankful for the friendship and mentorship God has blessed me and Joel with through them.
Aside from encouragement, we always have lots of fun together, whether it be going out to eat, sitting around talking, or just playing games. Sadly, we don't get to see them often enough, but it is the type of friendship that you could be apart for years and things would still be the same when you got together; like nothin ever changed, like family. Since Lisa and Greg kept up fed and rested, well not so rested; we stayed up late talking and joking, I got the chance to take some portraits of the kids or not so kids anymore. I do have to admit that I might just have to go back to Carlisle to get a good one of all four since one or the other has their eyes closed in nearly every picture, but I won't complain.
Rudders, I hope you enjoy!
